Waste Packaging

Every company is obliged to take back the packing which it has brought into circulation. This has been called for by the legislators in Germany and the EU.

Since the fifth amending ordinance came into force in 2008, manufacturers and importers who put packaging materials into circulation (initial circulators), have to team up with a service provider (so called dual system) and contract them to collect, sort and recycle these packaging materials. For this performance the initial circulator pays a fee to the service provider; a licence fee.

From our many years of experience, we have determined that a surprising number of companies pay too much in licence fees to have their packaging disposed of correctly. Additionally, there are often problems with the contracted service provider, difficulties with the certifying auditors or discrepancies with the letter of representation. Furthermore, new initial circulators are entering the market and require comprehensive consultation.
